Questnut

The short version

  • Questnut is free while it's in early access.
  • What you write is yours. We only use it to run Questnut for you.
  • Keep your account safe, and don't use Questnut to harm anyone or the service.
  • It's early software: we work hard to keep it running, but we can't promise it never breaks.
  • You can delete your account whenever you like.

These terms are the agreement between you and [TO CONFIRM: operator's name], who runs Questnut ("we"), when you use the Questnut app at app.todonut.app and this website. By making an account or using Questnut, you agree to them. Please read them with our Privacy Policy, which says what we do with your data.

1. Your account

You need an account to use Questnut. You can sign up with Google or with an email address and password. Give us an email address you can receive mail at, keep your password to yourself, and tell us at hello@todonut.app if you think someone else has got into your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

You must be at least 13 to use Questnut, and old enough where you live to agree to these terms.

2. Early access and price

Questnut is free while it's in early access. There's no card to enter and nothing to cancel.

Because it's early, Questnut changes often. We may add, change or remove features. When a change is something you'd notice, we say so in the app under Settings → What's new.

3. Your stuff

Everything you put into Questnut (your tasks, lists, notes, events and files) stays yours. You give us permission to store it, encrypt it, and process it only as needed to run Questnut for you: to show it to you, plan it, remind you of it, and put it on a calendar you've connected when you ask. That permission ends when your data is deleted (see the Privacy Policy, "Keeping and deleting").

Don't put anything in Questnut you don't have the right to store, and keep your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose. Questnut doesn't offer an export yet; email hello@todonut.app and we'll send you a copy of your data.

4. Connected calendars

When you connect a Google, Microsoft or Apple calendar, you let Questnut read its events and add, change or delete events on it as described in the Privacy Policy. Your use of those calendars is still governed by Google's, Microsoft's or Apple's own terms. You can disconnect a calendar at any time in Settings → Connected calendars.

5. Fair use

Please don't:

  • break the law with Questnut, or use it to harass, harm or deceive anyone;
  • try to get into accounts or data that aren't yours, or around the app's security;
  • overload, probe, scrape or disrupt the service, or use automated tools against it in ways an ordinary person using the app wouldn't;
  • upload malware, or anything you don't have the right to share;
  • resell Questnut or pretend to be us.

6. Our part

We'll do our best to keep Questnut running, your data safe, and these terms and the Privacy Policy true to what the app does. We'll tell you about changes that affect you.

7. No warranty

Questnut is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we make no promises that it will always be available, be free of bugs, or plan your time exactly as you'd like, and we disclaim any implied warranties, such as merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Planning, reminders and calendar sync can be late or fail; don't rely on Questnut alone for anything where a missed reminder could cause harm.

8. Liability

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or time, arising from your use of Questnut. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

9. Ending it

You can stop using Questnut and delete your account at any time in Settings → Account: "Delete account" keeps everything for 60 days in case you come back, and "Delete account and data" deletes it now.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people or the service at risk. Where we can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.

10. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. Using Questnut after that means you accept the new terms; if you don't, you can delete your account.

11. The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you live somewhere whose consumer laws give you more protection, those protections still apply.
